“Damsel in Distress” and “Divine Feminine” Part 2

A few days ago, I began the first post on my Damsel in Distress and “Divine Feminine” series.

Today, the second article I would like to speak about is one called, “The Divine Masculine”. It speaks about the importance of recognizing and honoring the Divine Masculine energy. In my opinion, a lot of masculine portrayals in main stream media are not mature and wise but are simply showing the adventures of boys in their quest for manhood,  if that is even their destination.

I decided to include this article because it speaks about the “Hero” being an immature aspect of the Divine Masculine and how “He journeys out to save a damsel in distress or fight a dragon to prove himself. His ego seeks acknowledgment and praise for being a hero.” Meanwhile, the warrior seeks to defend and protect his land, culture, people, etc from being destroyed.

This reminds me of a well-known movie that I just saw recently called “Thor”. Thor was stripped of his power for invading another land and seeking to prove himself as a warrior. However, his power was restored once he risked his life to defend those in need of his help. There is a very big difference between invading and defending on many levels. For instance, could it be that someone who has reached masculine maturity seeks to simply defend people’s right to live as they choose as opposed to seeking to impose their own will on another?

This article is a good read and can be found here: http://www.transformyourbeliefs.com/resources/articles/the-divine-masculine/
